«Die letzten Krieger - Deutsche Hells Angels im Fokus»Title of the book "Lutz Schelhorn" was taken from an article about the Hell's Angels German journalist Kuno Kruse published in the magazine «Stern» in 2008. On the one hand provocative title, but on the other hand expresses the ratio of the Hells Angels on many social aspects of modern society. «The Last Warriors» - is a new project of the photographer Lutz Schelhorn. A lot of myths and rumors revolving around the most famous motorcycle club in the world. Hells Angels Germany is now especially under scrutiny of the authorities and the media. Hardly anyone can get a clear idea about these people. Let it be as it is, the Hells Angels are contradictory. Think of them as celebrities with a bad reputation, or rogue heroes, rebels or criminals on wheels - their reputation is just as gorgeous as they look. Friendly community with a clearly accentuated personality is actually a paradox; for many desyatelety Hells Angels were themselves. They are the global representatives of different races, religions, nations walk by the edge of the abyss. Well settled in the mass community, they are farther away than you can imagine. In preparing this book Lutz Schelhorn spent a lot of time traveling in Germany. The project idea originated in 2008. He used an analog technology photography, from standard to large format film cameras filming exclusively in black-and-white film. Black-and-white image was chosen is more easily and accurately conveys the idea of the motorcycle club, which is perceived by the majority only by name and image imposed by the media. In his short career as a photographer Lutz Schelhorn already implemented several extraordinary projects. Given his thirty-year membership in the club Hells Angels what could be better than what he did now, his life and the lives of his brothers in the focus of the camera. With his pictures, he presents his club from a different perspective than the existing stereotypes. Not as a journalist, not - without any motion blur and actuality. Light and shadow, a look inside. He consciously plays with clichés, turning them upside down on each of the following photographs. The viewer is invited to compare the truth. Something with which they leave their job. First published in Germany in December 2011. 192 pages, 288 photos. Personal site of the photographer — lutz-schelhorn.de
